Collection

WASH Research and Innovation

A core purpose of this collection is connecting the field to the academy — and back again. Too often, the questions practitioners wrestle with daily never reach the researchers who could help answer them, and the findings universities generate never reach the communities that need them most. This collection exists to close that gap.

We work to match real-world WASH challenges and field-based research questions with university partners equipped to investigate them rigorously — bringing academic methods and resources to bear on problems that matter. At the same time, we disseminate applied WASH research from academic institutions outward, to the implementers, policymakers, and communities who can translate findings into action.

If you are working in the field and facing a challenge that needs deeper investigation, this collection can help you find research partners and frame your question. If you are a university researcher looking to ground your work in lived realities, you will find field-based challenges worth pursuing and communities ready to collaborate. Whatever your role, this collection is your bridge between evidence and action.
