Biosand Filter - Virus removal Q&A - Webinar

A video recording of the webinar on October 21, 2015 - Biosand Filter - Virus removal Q&A. While a recent study showed that virus reduction in biosand filters can meet USEPA and WHO standards, the mechanism(s) influencing virus reduction are still not clear. This webinar will discuss virus reduction (specifically the MS2 virus) as a function of physical filter characteristics (depth, media aging, and residence time) and microbial communities throughout the filter. Further understanding the mechanism of virus reduction in biosand filters is necessary and can help to enhance the design.
