What is Household Water Treatment and Safe Storage (HWTS)?

Learn about why household water treatment and safe storage (HWTS) is an excellent intervention option to improve access to clean drinking water.

HWTS is also referred to as a “point-of-use treatment” because it allows people to treat their water where it is consumed, such as in the home, in schools, or in health centres.

This module is part of a series on Household Water Treatment and Safe Storage, and program implementation options available to suit different contexts.
