
Welcome to CAWST’s Household Water Treatment and Safe Storage (HWTS) market-based approaches series. In this series, we will explore how market-based approaches are being used to scale HWTS. We’ll discuss the rationale for market-based approaches and hear from HWTS practitioners already using market-based approaches. We’ll also provide some guidance on best practices and link to existing resources that will provide additional guidance and support. In the first part of this series, we discuss why market-based approaches are important, explore the entrepreneurial mindset, and examine how to plan and adapt them. We also showcase four existing organizations using market-based approaches to provide HWTS solutions around the world.
